In Issue #44, Green Lantern clashes again with Evil Star who has escaped prison and has once more immobilized the Guardians of the Universe. Arriving on the planet, Evil Star once again removes Hal's power ring and destroys it. However, Hal has anticipated this move and recreated his original power ring, which was destroyed in his first battle with Evil Star and uses it to defeat the villain, restoring order to Oa and turning him over ot the Guardians.
As in the case of the next issue, 9.6s of this one are plentiful, but no 9.8s, at least not as of 10/2019. This one boast a Twin Cities pedigree with OW/W pages. It’s not perfect, but will have to do for now. We acquired the book in the 8/7/2011 Heritage auction.
2022: Generally, when the census changes it always hurts and this one is no exception as a 9.8 hit the census over the last year knocking our book down to tied for second highest graded.
