Owner's Description

x2 signed by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting. Carlos got Ed Brubaker's signature for me, and I subsequently submitted it to Paradise Comics for the Steve Epting signing they arranged.

The Civil War epilogue that made the news as this issue contains the "Death" of Captain America! His origin is recapped, and the affect that Cap has had on his various supporting members of the book is featured. We see Cap's affect on Sharon, Bucky and the Falcon as they show the readers what type of affect Cap has had on their lives.Crossbones snipes Cap, and he is ultimately finished off by an out of mind Sharon Carter (a la Doctor Faustus and Red Skull's planning)Heart wrenching and captivating, this issue proved only to be the beginning of an even longer story arc.

The Death of the Dream: Part I ! !

I also even have a 2nd graded double signed copy of the book (also registered). I guess it just goes to show how many of these #25's are graded.

Also pictured is a copy of the New York Daily that came out (if I remember correctly) on the same day that the comic was released. I recently met Steve Epting in Toronto and manaaged to get him to sign my copy of the paper. I would eventually get Ed Brubaker to sign it as well.

Personal Note:

I still remember the amount of media coverage this issue received the day it came out. There was such a buzz about it that not even I could not read and hear about it, and I live in Canada! I'm sure you can also remember the prices this book was fetching that same day on Ebay, right? This issue was fetching anywhere between $50 to $100 on numerous auctions.

If anything, this issue is a testament to the superb quality of the entire series. How many titles proved to be just as compelling, if not even moreso after the title character's death? If you're checking this out and you haven't been reding the series, you should be able to get a copy of #25 for a pretty fair price now that the craziness over the issue has subsided.
