Currently the Highest Graded Copy of this Issue. The cover shows a story called "The Man Who Made Earthquakes"
but no such story exists in this issue. That story exists in a Wheaties mini comic.

Part of the Cookeville collection. This Pedigree is not recognized by CGC but it's apparent by the SN written on the cover.

"The House That Time Forgot"

When a couple, driving in a heavy rainstorm, develop car problems they come upon a house that seems to mysteriously appear out of nowhere and hope they can be put up for the evening. The wife heads to the house but when the husband follows the house is gone. The man breaks in on Billy Batson's broadcast at WHIZ and explains the situation and telling Billy that the police suspect him in his wife disappearance. He implores Billy to get in touch with Capt. Marvel. Billy walks into the next room and out comes Capt. Marvel. The gentlemen is obviously completely fooled by Billy's cleverness. Cap flies the man to the scene of the disappearance. The arrive in a heavy downpour but no house is to be seen. Lightning flashes and the house appears.. Capt. Marvel smashes through the front door moments before the house again disappears leaving the man baffled again.

Inside the house Cap finds a single man named Rudolf who speaks with a German accent and dresses as if he step out of another century. It becomes clear that the man believes he's he's a Hessian soldier who fought Washington during the Revolutionary war. He tells Cap that he saw a pirate named Damorra kidnap the woman who entered the house.In another room Cap spots two civil war soldiers player checkers. Marvel believes he's in a. madhouse. Upstairs the pirate Damorra is questioning the woman on what year it is where she responds 1946. Turns out the pirate and two of his men have been in the house over 100 years and they desperately want out. Damorra has a plan. Most of the time there is just blankness out of the windows. Others have tried to leave at these times only to vanish. Before he can finish his thought Marvel shows up and punches him in the jaw, Damorra tries to appeal as a fellow Captain asking Marvel for help leaving the house and Cap agrees.

Meanwhile the man whose wife is missing is arrested and brought before the police Captain who is now accusing him of Capt. Marvel's disappearance as well and he's locked up until his wife or Marvel are located. In jail the man has an epiphany that it's the storm that causes the house to appear and decides he must escape as another storm is approaching. He offers a confession if they'll take him to the scene of the disappearances.Back at the house Damorra hears rain on the roof and decides it's time to try an escape. The attempt to kill Marvel with no success and then quickly attempt to get out of the house. Damorra escapes with the woman even as the police arrive. The husband tries to rescue his wife but gets a kick to the belly from Damorra for his troubles. Capt. Marvel escapes just as the house is disappearing, punches out Damorra and has him arrested for kidnapping and attempted murder. The house meanwhile returns to its "space-time vacuum".

"Captain Marvel's Life Insurance"

The story opens on an insurance agent named Homer Drizzle who is unable to sell any insurance. His boss decides to give him one last chance to make a sale. He needs to sell to Capt. Marvel and if he does he'll be made sales manager. The other salesman in the office decides HE'LL sell insurance to Marvel to get the sales manager position. Homer meets with Billy Batson and hands him a piece of paper to sign which Billy thinks is a petition for beautifying the zoo but he asks for Capt. Marvel's signature so Billy transforms right in front of Homer. Cap signs and as easy as that Homer has his sale. He's as pleased as can be and when he runs into his fellow salesman he mentions his successful sale.

It finally dawns on Cap that he accidentally signed the wrong papers and heads out to find Homer. Meanwhile, the shady salesman has hired a thug to get the paperwork from Homer. The shady salesman leads Homer into a dark room where the thug begins to beat him. Hearing the violence outside Capt. Marvel bursts in and saves Homer. The thug leaves the room and gives the insurance paperwork to the evil salesman before passing out from the beating he received from Marvel. Skirk presents the signed document to his manager and begins mocking Capt. Marvel when Marvel walks up behind him startling the slimy salesman and causing him to faint away. Cap tells the manager he didn't intend to buy insurance but has now changed his mind allowing Homer to become sales manager.
