Captain Marvel assists a young inventor by making his dream of a floating city reality. The city is built like an old frontier town and attracts scores of eager residents. Crooks start robbing the floating city which seems ill advised given the small size of the town and the fact that it's being monitored by the World's Mightiest Mortal.

(Pencils/Inks) C.C. Beck
Real Estate Mogul Henry Schmoogle decides to make his homely daughter Oogly a television star in order to gain public acceptance for his whole unattractive family. Henry hires a few thugs to force Oogly onto the Hilton Earle Variety show but Hilton resists. After Hilton is kidnapped Captain Marvel puts on a one man show. When Cap is forced to leave momentarily Oogly Schmoogly jumps on stage and turns out to be a big hit. Henry is left flummoxed as his daughter is seen as hilarious when his intention was for the Schmoogly's to be taken serious. Oogly, however, is thrilled with her new found fame.

Captain Marvel ties a string around his finger to help him remember but then forgets what he was supposed to remember. Throughout the story Captain Marvel uses his incredible memory to solve various problems yet the reason for the string continues to elude him. The reason for the string is, of course, the punchline of the story which I will not reveal.

When things start to get heated Captain Marvel steps in the break up the fight. Later, Captain Marvel discovers that the cattle were literally disintegrated by an acid rain storm that now threatens to finish off the rancher. Unsurprisingly it turns out these acid rain storms are man made and it's up to Captain Marvel to bring in the culprit.
