Owner's Description

Huge fan of Simone Bianchi and his style of art. His cover work is usually some of the best for me personally and I usually find the extra buck or two in order to be able to pick up his variant covers.

The Reverse image is a preview of the Inception dream machine thingy. If they would have said that he was going to be in a dream within a dream, within a dream I would have called it quits though.

As for the story this one was a little different to me. If you've ever seen the movie Inception and then wanted to read a comic with the same...EVERYTHING, then here you go.

After capturing Steele during the final showdown between the Secret Avengers and the Shadow Council, Beast uses an experimental machine (The Inception Dream Machine) that will help sift through Steeleā€™s memories to figure out how he got to where he is now. Beast and Cap discover there are missing moments and parts of the memory that just seem to be incomplete. Cap finds a moment during World War II when he and Steele are on a mission. This mission would be the last one that Steele was seen on between then and when he showed back up as a lackey for the Shadow Council. Cap goes into the machine to help flesh out the memory a little more. The memory changes as Steele wrestles control over the situation away from Beast and his team of scientists. When Cap comes back to the real world, they are surprised by a fully conscious Steele ready to inflict some pain on the scientists and heroes in the facility.

I like what Ed Brubaker does with this storyline and was sad to see him go but closing out the John Steele story seemed like a decent enough goodbye to this writer. I just wish I cared more about the story than the cover art for this one.
