"The Earth Dreamer"
(Script) Otto Binder
(Pencils/Inks) Pete Costanza

Billy Batson does a report for WHIZ about a scientist who believes the entire world is nothing more than the dream of a sleeping giant. That night Billy cannot sleep out of fear that the giant might wake up destroying reality so he seeks out the scientist to convince him to admit that his theory is nuts or Billy won't ever be able to sleep again. The scientiest, Mr Thinkler, shows Billy a telescope that can look into the fourth dimension and Billy is able to see the ever sleeping giant. Mr. Thinkler says that since they all live in a dream if Capt. Marvel wants to get to the giant he can simply wish himself there and so it happens. The giant starts to wake so Cap punches him in the nose to put him back to sleep. The punch has little to no effect but the giant drifts back to sleep on his own. Cap still worries that the giant might still wake so he pushes a giant sized tree onto his head, apparently knocking him out further. Cap wishes himself back whereupon Mr. Thinkler tells him of his new theory that the giant is actually a figment of his OWN imagination. A figment so real even Capt. Marvel can see it. Marvel is so angry he nearly beats up Thinkler but the story ends with Billy going back to sleep.

7 page Captain Marvel
"The Last Men On Earth"
(Script) Otto Binder
(Pencils/Inks) Pete Costanza

Billy Batson receives a letter addressed to Capt. Marvel so he transforms to read it (evidence that Billy and Capt. Marvel are unique beings). A scientist wants Marvels help in a time travelling trip so Cap goes to investigate. The plan is to travel a million years into the future with Capt. Marvel blazing the trail. The scientist basically pushes Cap into the machine and sends him into the future only to discover the planet has basically gone back to a primeval age. The only life he finds are man sized intelligent insects who immediate attack him to their regret. Cap worries about the scientist who told him him and others would follow behind 24 hours after Marvel arrives but when 24 hours elapse and no one shows up Marvel decides to go back to the present to find out what's up. It then occurs to him that the cycle of the Earths orbit has changed and the scientist and crew are 30 days in the future beyond where Cap arrived (yes, it's confusing). He travels to where the scientist has arrived and rescues them from a giant bug. The scientist confesses that he had predicted that insects would one day conquer man. His plan is to use scientific weapons to travel to the future, wipe out the insects and repopulate the Earth with humans. Captain Marvel gives his approval to a plan that is essentially genocide.

2 page text story "Raccoon Logic"
(Script) Arthur Lane

8 page Captain Marvel
"The Son of Sivana"
(Appearances) Thaddeus Bodog Sivana, Jr (first)
(Script) Otto Binder
(Pencils/Inks) Pete Costanza

Billy spots a meteor and goes to investigate as Capt Marvel only to discover it's actually a rocket ship piloted by Dr. Sivana and Sivana isn't alone. He's brought back his son Sivana jr. from Venus. Capt. Marvel mentions Beautia as his only other child so I guess we're supposed to forget his other son Magnificus. Junior threatens Marvel with Venusian weapons. A gun has no effect on Cap but he's tricked by a holographic projector and the villains make their escape.

Capt. Marvel enlists the aid of Captain Marvel Junior to take on the Sivana team. Later, Sivana Jr. creates a money hating machine that causes the target to hate money and throw it away where Sivana Sr. can grab it up. The Marvels find them and Marvel Junior punches Sivana Junior (the colorist screwed up and gave Capt. Marvel Jr. a red costume). They try to hand the Sivana's over to a cop but he refuses to take them since they were only picking up money people threw away. Seems like handing the World's Wickedest Scientist and son to a beat cop seems like a bad idea even if he would have taken them. Capt Marvel nabs Sivana after the Sivana's try and escape but the battle of Juniors is carried over into Captain Marvel Jr.'s own comic.
