The Annuals should count. I always enjoyed the annuals in the eighties. And although Doctor Doom is predominately on the cover, nothing beets him on the cover of Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars issue 10.
Plot Description by CLZ
in the lead story we learn the history of Doctor Doom. His mother was killed when he was but a child, and his father was a gypsy healer. When his father failed to save the life of a Baroness (through no fault of his own) he was killed, leaving Victor an orphan in the care of Boris. Victor then learned his mother was a sorceress, and swore to use all he knew both science and magic to bring the world under his control. He attended state university where he met Reed Richards and Ben Grimm. Ignoring Richards' advice to double check his numbers, he tried a dangerous experiment to contact the...
