Originally Dr. Kurt McManus was going to have these white markings on him instead of blue fists like he has now, but we never actually got rid of them. That is, they’re chromatophores that trigger whenever Dr. Kurt is happy. It just happened to turn out that Dr. Kurt had nothing to feel happy about after several issues of traumatic body horror and ultraviolence, so we never got to show it. I guess I wouldn’t hold my breath for it to be part of the book at this point.
Maybe it is no big secret but Dr. Kurt is my favorite character in the book, for a million reasons. I didn’t want to jump straight out the box with a bunch of Dr. Kurt stuff but there’s just so much about Dr. Kurt you guys. I love him.
