World's Finest 323 was a mundane issue suddenly elevated to memorable by very power dialog in it's last 3 pages. With the last page being rather poignant - apologies for gettin' all mushy.
"The bonds of a friendship are forged of the mightiest steel...tempered in a flame that burns brighter than a thousand suns. For half a century, no man, no war, no cause,has ever shattered those bonds...But this day, they have discovered a crack in the metal...We can only hope... it is not beyond repair."
While this has a 1986 cover date, the comic was on sale Oct 1985. Newsstand Edition.
