CGC Named Official Grading Service of Pittsburgh Comicon

Posted on 9/4/2009

Pittsburgh Comicon has named CGC as their official grading service. CGC will be attending the convention September 11 through the 13, at the Pittsburgh ExpoMart in Monroeville, PA. CGC will be accepting submissions for all tier levels to be graded in CGC's office in Florida. Comics submitted for grading at the show saves on postage and insurance, as collectors are charged only one-way postage to have their books returned after grading.

Additionally, CGC representatives and authorized witnesses will be on-site to observe signings. Books signed in the presence of an authorized witness at Pittsburgh Comicon and immediately submitted for certification will be eligible for the prestigious CGC Signature Series label. The guest of honor Stan Lee is making a rare East Coast con appearance – show attendees can visit CGC's booths, S009 and S010, to enter a raffle for a chance to attend a meet-and-greet with Stan Lee.

"The Pittsburgh Comicon always comes up with a great roster of guests that attracts collectors from the Northeast and the Midwest. Stan Lee's appearance is certainly a shining example. We’re looking forward to attending this show for years to come and we're proud to be its official grading service," comments CGC President and Primary Grader Mark Haspel.

A number of other special guests are expected to draw crowds at this year’s Pittsburgh Comicon:

  • Talent Caldwell (Fathom: Killian’s Tide, Gen-1)
  • Tom Fleming (Elektra, Captain Marvel)
  • Ramona Fradon (Metamorpho, Aquaman)
  • Adam Hughes (Wonder Woman, Powergirl)
  • Arthur Suydam (Marvel Zombies, Red Sonja)
  • Herb Trimpe (Incredible Hulk, G.I. Joe)
  • Ben Templesmith (Welcome to Hoxford writer/artist)
