Posted on 5/20/2011

On-site comic book grading as well as Signature Series witness authentication services will be available June 17–19 in Philadelphia.

CGC will offer on-site grading for comics as well as Signature Series witness authentication services at Philadelphia Comic Con in Philadelphia, PA, June 17–19, 2011, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

CGC will be grading on-site for all service levels. These include Modern*, Economy, Standard, Express and more! Stop by the CGC booth to submit comic books for on-site grading or to request a Signature Series witness.

On-Site certification of your comic book(s) will occur during the weekend of the show. CGC’s goal is to have your books returned to you on the day they are submitted. In the event that we get inundated with submissions, CGC will have your books back to you by the end of the show on Sunday. If we do not meet that deadline, we will ship your books out to you for free within five (5) business days. During the show, CGC will have scheduled times for when books will come back to the booth for customer pick-up. We cannot guarantee that your invoice will be in any specific time slot but please feel free to stop by and check.

On-site Tier Pricing:

  • Modern (comics 1980–present, valued US $200 or less) — US $24
  • Economy (comics valued US $300 or less) — US $45
  • Standard (comics valued US $1,000 or less) — US $75
  • Express (comics valued US $3,000 or less) — US $125
  • WalkThru (comics any value) — min $175, max 2.5% FMV
  • Signature Series Services for on-site grading — $10 additional to grading fee (per signature)

Signature Series requests can be made for on-site grading. However, if CGC and its affiliates are unable to obtain the artist(s) signature(s) by Sunday morning, then the books will not be able to be submitted for on-site certification and will have to be shipped back to CGC’s facility for regular tiers of certification. You will be responsible for all costs associated with the grading and shipping of this comic in order for it to retain its Signature Series designation.
