A Recap of Exceptional CGC Signature Series Opportunities at San Diego Comic-Con

The CGC booth served as host to four Signature Series events during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The venue attracted some of the industry’s top creators, and in coordination with ACTOR and individual creators, CGC representatives were on hand to witness signings for the prestigious CGC Signature Series.

The CGC Signature Series label (yellow) is applied to comic books that have been signed by someone of significance to the comic, under the direct observation of a CGC employee or CGC authorized witness. The signatures are then authenticated by CGC with the label indicating who signed the book, the date it was signed, and in some cases the location of where it was signed. The service provides collectors with a CGC-certified comic book and an authenticated signature.

Three of the signings were arranged in conjunction with ACTOR, A Commitment To Our Roots. ACTOR is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit corporation dedicated strictly to helping comic book creators in need. ACTOR creates a financial safety net for creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and entrance back into paying work. The proceeds from tickets sales and the portion of CGC submission fees are donated to ACTOR during charity signings conducted at CGC’s booth at conventions around the country.
