New! Custom Sets in the CGC Registry

Posted on 10/31/2014

CGC has announced a major enhancement of the CGC Comics Registry with the introduction of Custom Sets. The new feature allows each collector to define their set's theme and determine which comics are eligible.

Launched in 2003, the CGC Comics Registry is a free online resource for collectors to showcase their comic books, organize their collections and compete with other collectors for the best sets — and it's the Internet's only registry for comic books. The CGC Comics Registry has grown to include more than 50,000 sets in nearly 3,500 competitive categories.

Unlike competitive categories, which are defined by CGC, the new Custom Sets feature allows collectors to build sets in unique ways as personal expressions of what they find fascinating about collecting. Custom Sets are ideal for collectors with a wide variety of interests.

Collectors can either share their Custom Sets or keep them private. Each collector defines their set’s theme and chooses which comics are eligible. Any Collectors Society member, free or paid, can enter a Custom Set by clicking the Custom Sets tab on the Control Panel after logging in. Custom Sets allows collectors to post sets of any type.

While our traditional competitive registry sets are scored, Custom Sets are not competitive and are not ranked. See why thousands of members participate in the CGC Registry. Explore the Registry now!

There is no fee to participate in the CGC Registry; only a free Collectors Society membership is required. The Collectors Society is an online community developed to provide services and education to collectors.
