Set Description:
Although Fighting Yank didn't seem to reach the popularity of Black Terror, he was one of the Nedor stalwarts and merited his own title which lasted nearly the same number of issues as the Black Terror.
FY also had a pretty cool origin - He was Bruce Carter III who gained his superhuman powers when the ghost of his ancestor Bruce Carter I, a hero from the American War of Independence, appeared to him and showed him the location of a magical cloak that could give the wearer invulnerability and super strength. His costume was somewhat corny I thought but it seemed to work.
Again, another series that I have nearly completed in either raw or slabbed. It seems to me that there are more FY issues that are much tougher to find than BT. #7 was a bear but I managed to pick up a low grade copy. Actually just two issues shy of the complete set at this point and they are available - I'm just being picky.
Similar themes ran through the two titles and along with some nifty Schomburg covers, this series was a lot of fun.
