Skybound X - my fifth complete CGC set.
Skybound X was originally a five-comic set which celebrated 10 years of Skybound with a cavalcade of favourite creators and all-new stories of favourite series. Each issue starts with a new chapter of a serialised The Walking Dead story: Rick Grimes 2000 by Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley (which is why I collected them).
In addition, there are debuts of all-new series and characters every issue, starting with the first appearance of the most requested The Walking Dead character, Clementine, the star of Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game series.
There are also new Ultramega and Manifest Destiny stories. On publication of the series, Skybound said "If you want to know what to expect in Skybound’s next 10 years, it all starts here!".
Skybound X returned with issue #25 on 20 July 2022. The extra-sized edition has eleven cover variants to mark Image’s 30th anniversary.
All the six comics in my set have been graded by CGC at 9.8; five have been included into the prestigious Signature Series.
Notes:
1. On 21 July 2023, my set was awarded the CGC Best Set award for 2023, one of seven awards I received that day, and one of 25 in total.
