Set Description:
Who says heroes and war comics don't mix? I give you
This title was an odd one that bounced around a bit and had some truly great WW2 covers. I wish I could go for those early ones, but LB Cole is my bread and butter and I'll stick to it.
The #17, his first, was the last one I needed and it may be the best war one. What a cool perspective! You tell me, it looks better than a 2.5! But the run goes on to some anti-Japanese stuff and a difficult black cover. What you can't see is how BIG some of these comics are! If you see high-grade copies of these just remember that! You know there were pinups and other centerfolds that must have came out of a lot of these, just after reading them and time! These books are over 80 years old!!!
But then there's the last issues. One of the Cole classic sci-fi covers is #26 - and rightfully so! All too often the #25 is overlooked, with the spaceships attacking earth! C'mon people! We've got aliens here!
It took me 20 years, but I got the Cole run! Enjoy!
