Set Description:
This set mostly contains comics I purchased at least 15 years ago and many close to 25 years ago. Most of the ones that have been in my possession the longest were raw comics I obtained from either eBay, the now defunct Comic Buyers Guide, or comic book conventions, mainly Comic-con International, which used to be affordable to attend. While I picked up a few of the slabs from eBay and Heritage years ago, I submitted most of the raw comics to CGC over the past year. In one case where I had a raw that was in too poor of condition for the set and another that came back with the PLOD, I resorted to recent eBay purchases.
Overall, I was very pleased with the grades the raws received. By the time I was purchasing these originally, I had become a very discerning buyer who rejected comics with notable flaws. Of course, due to the rarity of some of these, I had to compromise sometimes.
The last batch of four graded raw comics has returned from CGC and been entered into the set. These were among the lowest condition books, but I’m glad to say all received 5.0s with no PLODs. If the opportunity presents itself, I will try to upgrade them.
