Set Description:
Well here we are, relaunch number one of…several. No, we don't find Wolverine trading in his booze for kool-aid and becoming a kindergarten teacher. Nor does this particular relaunch end tragically with our hero becoming yet another casualty of Marvel’s pander machine. I mean, why create new superheroes when you can just ruin iconic ones instead? But that’s a tirade for another set.
Anyway, I’ve always wondered why the original series stopped at issue 189. It seems like a rather trivial number, and it wasn't tied to any significant date on the calendar. Oh well, it’s not that important.
What is important is that we now find the series in the creative hands of the three Rs – Rucka, Robertson, and Ribic. And they certainly set the bar high right from the get go with the “Brotherhood” storyline. The series would definitely go on an interesting ride, from S.H.I.E.L.D. cross overs, to Old Man Logan’s glimpse into a terribly bleak future, to the conclusion run of issues where our hero takes a vacation and his maladjusted son picks up the reins as the Dark Wolverine. And everything in between.
With that said, let the browsing begin!
