Set Description:

This underrated title contains what is probably the first horror series in comics(1944 and Overstreet FINALLY notes this) , "Famous Tales of Terror", adapted E. A. Poe stories and begins in issue #1 - The Black Cat, #3 - The Pit & the Pendulum, #4 - Fall of the House of Usher, #6 - The Tell-Tale Heart. Issues 7-10 dropped the "famous" from the title to become "Tales of Terror" & was hosted by an old witch with a red cloak and bubbling cauldron, that feature original horror stories years before EC comics made it the "New Trend". It's even to be speculated that the EC old witch is a swipe from this title. These books are extremely hard to find in high grade, or even mid grade for some issues, with the exception of #7 & 8.
