Set Description:
House of Mystery Comics.
I collected comics in the late 60s and early 70s. And yes...fortunately I do actually have several hundred the original comics that I bought as a youngster. Spiderman and Daredevil were my two favorite comic book super heroes. Back then, I collected primarily Marvel comics with a few DC comics here and there. My main interest was super hero comics but I always enjoyed reading the supernatural and/or horror comic books as well. I recently decided it would be enjoyable to revisit my old hobby. I picked up a CGC graded copy House of Mystery #120 via an Ebay auction. Thus began this collection. Pretty humble beginnings to be sure. Anyway, the House of Mystery title is very interesting to me personally. It is a very long running title and many of the great comic book artists talents represented in the series. It contains both pre code and post code comics. And most interesting from a collectability standpoint.....many of the early books are just plain scarce. For example, as of this date (10 Feb 2010) my HOM #27 is the only CGC graded copy. Compare that with Amazing Spiderman #27 or Daredevil #27 where there are numerous CGC graded books and you can understand why I decided to "march to a different drummer" and set forth putting together a collection of House of Mystery comics. Additionally, since House of Mystery is not as popular as some of the Super Hero titles, quality older books are much more affordable. Happy Collecting !!!
