Set Description:
I have always been a huge Flash fanatic - since I was a kid, in fact. A decade ago or so, I bought a couple Golden Age Flash Comics, almost on a lark. Jay Garrick was always thought to be impossible for me. Aside from issues being tough to find, certain ones can be pretty pricey too. In the beginning, I never even fathomed going for a run. But, I guess I caught "the bug" with those first few issues.
Fast-forward about 4 years, and I put together a complete, end-to-end Flash Comics run -- 106 issues, including the Ashcan and the Wheaties book. The fun thing about assembling a Golden Age run is that money is only part of the challenge. The higher hurdle is finding a copy in the grade you target. For some issues in the Flash run, I've only seen a handful of copies, in total, over a multi-year span. And, because of that, I had to dip below my initial FN-ish range here and there.
Flash is fast. This process wasn’t. Oddly, as annoying as it was at times to see holes in the run, the chase was an absolute blast.
I then got bored once I finished and sold most of my set. I kept a few that I couldn't live without, which is what you see in this list. I'll continue to pick up issues on occasion, but I feel I have summited Mt. Flash. *plants flag*
