Owner's Description

This is the first Marvel comic that did not meet the requirements of the Comics Code of America. The remarkable thing about this is that the story that defied the Government code was story that the Government requested. As the story goes, the government approached Stan Lee to write a story to address concerns of drug use amongst youth in his books as a public service. Stan Lee complied only to find another agency of Government slap his hands for it.

Stan Lee went on to publish it anyway and sales remained strong. The code was weakened and would eventually find itself obsolete.
