NOTES OF INTEREST: This issue marks the first appearance of Lord Covenant, Guy DuBlanc, and Baron Rivalen. There are two versions of this comic. This particular comic is an example of the regular release version. There is also an alternate cover featuring artwork by Todd McFarlane.
ISSUE SYNOPSIS: Devil’s Night
The Black Knight, known as Lord Covenant when he left to fight in the Crusades, has made a painful and gruesome return from the grave. Amidst his confusing return, he immediately unleashes his anger on Baron Rivalen's Captain of Arms, Guy DuBlanc, in revenge for injustices served upon the poor unfortunate peasants. Later, when the Black Knight returns to his crumbling castle, he is met by his time-honored mentor, Cogliostro.

NUMBER OF SALES: 113,646 preorders reported by Diamond Comic Distributors (3rd place). This issue outsold Spawn #84, which was sold during the same month.
