This piece is actually the second graded platinum example that has been apart of my collection. For a few years I went back and forth about finding and paying for a high grade example. Before that, as a kid, I had heard of this platinum edition but I had never seen one in person, it would not be until the late ‘90s when I finally saw what this platinum edition looked like online. For a set of readily available books, the platinum edition was an exception. I found my first 9.8 example and felt I had found a crown jewel for my Death and Return of Superman set. After some time, an opportunity came up for a trade on an amazing book and the platinum edition was my trump card.
I was happy with the trade but after some time, I began to miss having a platinum edition. I kept my eye out and found a few examples but they were too expensive. Lighting struck a second time and I won my second 9.8 example for one of the lowest GPA prices recorded. On the day I won this book online, the team, the Denver Broncos went on to shock the world by winning Super Bowl 50 - winning this book was how I knew that would win. In the end, I got to keep the book I traded my first 9.8 example for and regain another beautiful platinum edition for my collection.
