Owner's Description

The Set: This book was one of four issues that I had signed by Wager for my second round of his signatures. These were done on 9/15/14 in Baltimore. All four of these books, through a bit of serendipity, (he forgot to sign using his kanji, and had already signed them in English. Rich Henn went back and had him add the kanji) ended up being signed AND sketched! These four books were 25, 28, 29, and 32.

The Book: This book was purchased by me, shepherded by Sean, pressed and cleaned and witnessed by Rich Henn.

The Cover: Matt Wagner's first of twelve covers, the last of three artists to get twelve covers, is a classic image. I honestly don't think this cover has anything to do with the story- I think Wagner took the opportunity to craft a classic bit of LW&C imagery, akin to "The Masters of Death." Good on him, because it works, and makes a splash for his entrance to the series.

The Story: "A kindly and revered lord, banished by the greedy elders, sends an unspoken plea for help. Lone Wolf and Cub answer 'The Message of the Geese.' In 'Tale of the Winter Crane,' a widow struggles for a revenge that Lone Wolf knows needs no pardon."
