Owner's Description

"Attack of the Flying Gorillas!" Total cover reissue from issue #125, with credit for this issue to Murphy Anderson, but credit on the original to Sid Greene. I don't think anyone knows who actually drew this cover, but it has been cropped and recolored for this issue.
The crop job isn't terrible, but it definitely makes the cover less good. Allowing the gorilla's wing to go outside the image area on the spine side of the image removes some of the tension from the original, and removes some of the sense of motion. The recoloring job, on the other hand has made the image more vibrant, particularly the sky, and the planes against the added black border.
Additionally, I don't like that they have re-named the cover story, "The Flying Gorilla Menace!" sounds better to me.

The same as with issue 227, I don't have to guess if this cover worked to sell the book to me, because I remember owning it as a child. So either Sid or Murphy did their job well, I was willing to buy this book even ten years after the cover was first drawn.
