ISSUE SYNOPSIS: - Milestone (Urizen storyline part 6 of 6)

After defeating Urizen, Spawn and Angela travel to the eighth level of Hell for a final battle against Malebolgia, who has been greatly weakened. Spawn confronts his master alone at first, but soon Angela joins the struggle. Working in tandem once again, Spawn and Angela are able to defeat Malebolgia. However, before they can make an escape, Malebolgia uses his dying breath to impale Angela with her own lance. An enraged Spawn delivers the coup d'état by decapitating Malebolgia with Angela’s majestic sword. Spawn delivers Angela’s lifeless body to a host of angels, who offer the tortured spirit a heavenly pardon. Now believing that Heaven is just as corrupt as Hell, Spawn declines the offer and issues the following warning – stay away from Earth. In spite of Spawn’s rejection, one of the angels provides a final favor for Spawn by breathing the breath of life into Wanda, who nearly dies while giving birth to a set of twins. Even though Spawn is still caught in the battle between Heaven and Hell, he is finally able to come to terms with the role he is playing in the world.
