ISSUE SYNOPSIS: - Retribution Overdrive (part 1 of 2)

Overtkill returns to face Spawn once again, but soon discovers that his crimson-cloaked foe is more powerful than ever before. Spawn decapitates Overtkill and recovers important data in regards to the man responsible for financing and directing the cyborg. Elsewhere, a tabloid cameraman is murdered before finalizing a deal over a videotape of Spawn pulling the victims of a plane crash from the water.

NUMBER OF SALES: 63,545 preorders reported by Diamond Comic Distributors (9th place)

REFLECTIONS: Even though the title is slowly beginning to drop in popularity, the cover art of Greg Capullo during the next few dozen issues represents the apex of the title's cover art. Capullo seems to be on a roll by this point. The detail and color scheme for each cover seems to improve with every issue.
