NOTES OF INTEREST: Only two independent comic book titles have reached 250 issues - Spawn and Cerebus. This triple-sized issue was released in ten different versions: regular release (color cover artwork by Todd McFarlane, a sketch cover by Todd McFarlane, a color cover and a sketch cover by Greg Capullo, a color cover and a sketch cover by Jock, a color cover and a sketch cover by Skottie Young, a color cover by Sean Murphy, and a color cover by Phillip Tan. The comic you see here is an example of the regular release. This issue marks the return of Al Simmons as the Hellspawn. This is scheduled to be Szymon Kudranski's last turn as the full-time interior illustrator of the series.
ISSUE SYNOPSIS:
This issue marks the cataclysmic climax in the story of the current Spawn: Jim Downing's final struggle against his costume while the fate of New York City lies in the balance. From the ashes of that battlefield comes rises the "original" Spawn - Al Simmons.
