Owner's Description

Rocky Mountain pedigree is nice. As much as I am distracted by the eyes being drawn outside of the mesh on the villain, I actually like this composition; the purple & green work well together and the bug's wing coming through the O in ATOM is a nice touch.

Here's an odd situation - if you remove the text box (not the notification about the pin-up) - the composition ends up being unbalanced. Without it, Gil would have needed to add some background, some something, to continue that line from the villain's green eye-goggles through Ray and out the page as the yellow box...

Oddly, this book didn't come out the same month as House of Mystery 163 featuring Baron Bug and his Insect Army (12/1966) - but the cover image parallels are strong. Maybe Carmine was influenced a little bit by this.
