Owner's Description

The Perfect Crime #11 is referenced in Fredric Wertham’s “Seduction of the Innocent” (SOTI) in the text on page 159.On page 159, Wertham provides examples of crime comics that teach youths the details of how to commit crimes and cites an example from the story “A Fast Fifty for Cap” contained in The Perfect Crime #11. Wertham describes the story as follows “A comic book appropriately entitled The Perfect Crime describes ‘an old and nearly foolproof scheme’ to be worked on drugstores. You select one where the owner works alone, telephone him and ask him to deliver something for an emergency case. While he is out you rob his store. ‘Pickin a name from the phone book of somebody who loves in the neighborhood puts real class into this little gimmick! Hah!’”I have included a scan of the title page from “A Fast Fifty for Cap” where you can witness Cap Kingman working his drugstore scheme.
