Han Solo was frozen in carbonite following the events of Star Wars 43 (part five of the six part adaptation to the Empire Strike Back). There were a lot of issues without Han Solo depicting the events from the Empire Strikes Back to Return of the Jedi. In accordance with the old Expanded Universe (and even the modern Canon), there was one year of story between the Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. However, there were three years of comics to depict this one year of story.
