Owner's Description
Point One issues were released to be accessible, reader friendly entry points to various Marvel Comics.
This issue deals with Steve Rogers' not being Captain America and instead being Commander Rogers, leader of SHIELD. The issue deals with Steve's mindset and his hesitancy to take up the mantle of Captain America again with Bucky having been taking to Russia.
The big development in this issue sees Steve taking notice of someone who attempts to take the mantle of Captain America. This temporary Cap gets captured by A.I.M and nearly gets turned into a MODOK! Luckily, Steve Rogers was watching his back as he swoops in and saves our Cap wannabe.
In the end, Steve tells our wannabe Cap to quit it, otherwise he's probably going to get killed. The point that is made is that someone has to be Captain America eventually regardless of whether or not Steve Rogers wants the mantle or if others will try to step into the role.
Ultimately we see that Sharon Carter learns that Nick Fury was the one backing the wannabe Cap in an attempt to make Steve realize that he needs to be the one to carry the shield and mantle of Captain America. Ultimately, Sharon doesn't tell Steve what she learns because she, like Nick Fury know that Steve Rogers needs to be Captain America.
Personal Note:
It's very nice to see Mitch and Bettie Breitweiser taking care of the art duties in this issue. They do a great job of capturing a gritty look for Cap!
