Owner's Description
Star Wars 50: The Crimson Forever.
The story was by Archie Goodwin. The exact art credits were elusive as this issue did not describe exactly who worked on each page. Based on someone from eBay (I will try to find a more official source someday): the interior pencil art was by Al Williamson (for pages 1 to 36) and Walt Simonson (for pages 37 - 47). The painted cover and the majority of interior inking artwork was by Tom Palmer. Some pages were inked by Al Williamson, Rick Bryant and Dave Simons too.
Signed by Tom Palmer on 7/22/10.
This was a classic double sized issue. The main took place between the Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It also tied-in a flashback story of Han Solo and Chewbacca set shortly after Star Wars: A New Hope.
The Crimson Forever refereed to a disease caused by two stones that when separated from one another led to characters going into a coma. For the majority of this issue, Luke Skywalker was in a coma. Luke briefly interacted with Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi during this issue.
Marvel created a sequel to this story set within the year following Return of the Jedi of the old Expanded Universe / Legends continuity . The sequel story was in Star Wars 108: Forever Crimson and was published on May 29, 2019!
