Owner's Description

This is one of the weirdest things I've ever had slabbed. Tokyopop published manga-style, graphic-novel format continuations to the <i>Dark Crystal</i> and <i>Labyrinth</i> franchises. They also printed 16-page mini-comic flipbooks as previews / advertisements for those properties. Read from one side, the books preview <i>Legends of the Dark Crystal</i>; from the other, <i>Return to Labyrinth</i>.

<b>This</b> flipbook was a pack-in with the three-film DVD box set of <i>Dark Crystal</i> / <i>Labyrinth</i> / <i>Mirrormask</i>. Its <i>Dark Crystal</i> side is styled is <i>Legends of the Dark Crystal: The Garthim Wars</i> and its <i>Labyrinth</i> side previews volume 2 of the corresponding manga.

There also exists another one of these flipbooks, with a more ornate cover design, which I believe previews volume 1 of <i>Return to Labyrinth</i>. I know it was a DVD pack-in, but I don't know what DVD or DVD set (and apparently, neither does Tokypop...). I know a copy passed through Lone Star Comics at some point, so you can find cover images online. If you happen to read this, and have one, I'm really looking to pick up a copy.
