Comiclink June 2019 win. You know, it is a Massachusetts pedigree and all, but as a 9.2, I didn't intend on winning it. I thought I would be outbid, but I wasn't and my bid of $36 was enough to bring it home. There are plenty of books certified higher than my copy, with two in 9.8 and a total of 19 graded 9.4 or above. The predominantly black cover does keep the number of 9.8's down...maybe the popularity of the Metal Men had an impact on surviving HG copies too?

The Metal Men did have their own title, but it had stopped in December 1969 due to declining sales. Eventually they would try and restart the series in 1976, but it was cancelled finally in 1978.

This issue marked a return to a non 52 pager format, so no reprinted stories were included as extra stories from this point forward.
