Owner's Description

Comic Connect auction win - September 2019. The black cover is proving to be tough to overcome, as this book is tied with two others for HIGHEST GRADED on the census at a grade of 9.6. I can think of another dark covered book, Justice League of America #75 (which also features Black Canary) which is a tough get in HG.

You gotta figure there is a nice 9.8 still uncertified out there...right?

This is a book I managed to acquire without first having to upgrade once..or twice...or three times, so until a 9.8 does surface, I'm all good!

Here is another example of a story that had to be changed in the future for it to make sense. The character of Black Canary was a tricky one because she is an Earth-Two JSA member but came over to Earth-One and it caused some logistical challenges. At times, continuity dictated there was only one Black Canary and other times there were two (mother and daughter).

Justice League of America#220 retconned this story to indicate that the Black Canary in this story was not the original Black Canary, but her daughter implanted with her mother's memories. A few years later this mind implant story was discarded, so who knows what's what anymore? Or what it will be?

Perhaps its easier not to think about it. The story is just Black Canary from Earth-Two coming to Earth-One to try and get together with the Earth-One version of her husband. It does not...SPOILER ALERT...

It does not go well for her.
