This issue concludes the Exile storyline and celebrates the return of Superman with homage to the classic cover of Superman #1. This issue not only commemorates the return of Superman to earth, it is also the return of Action Comics from a weekly to a monthly publishing schedule – Action Comics #601 to 642 was changed to Action Comics Weekly and focused on other superheroes in the DC universe, Superman only made occasional appearances.
