Owner's Description

The announcement that <i>Superman is Dead</i> made this book have a special feel to it at the time, letting the reader know that things have changed (at least for now) for the worse, and we need to get used to it. It made Superman's death feel <i>final.</i> I had a Universal 9.8 copy of this book that I got off of eBay for $50.00 when my set reached 100% but I later replaced it with this Signature Series copy. I think the silver signature goes really well on this cover. I had this book reholdered in December 2020.

The League, and the World, is in mourning.

I like the use of the outer cover on this book and wonder how this type of decision was made.

The second image slot includes a picture of all four of the printings of this book, <b>ALL</b> in 9.8, when they were finally assembled. The fourth printing was the last one I was able to get in 9.8. This is the <b>FIRST</b> and, as of this writing, the <b>ONLY</b> set where this is possible! It wasn't nearly as easy as the image makes it look...

<i>I put in a lot of work to make this picture possible...</i> the third printing shown in this picture is not only a 9.8 (obviously) but it is also the <i>first copy ever graded</i> of that printing and it is from my own submission; the fourth printing shown is also from my own submission and it is the first 9.8 copy of that printing.

<i><u>I am so relieved to have finally been able to put this group of printings together and am pleased to be able to share them here!</u></i>.

I think they did a very nice job with the title colors of the various printings of this book, particularly by including the shield/Justice League crest behind the title in the change... <i>really cool!</i>
