Owner's Description
I never really understood why Batman was just dropping Superman's cape like that. This cover looks great but it never completely made sense to me. It seems like the cape belonged in a museum or somewhere more fitting. A very strange artistic choice in my opinion, which works for drama's sake but doesn't actually make sense if you think about it.
I picked up my first Universal 9.8 of this book on eBay for $119.99 BIN. Much later I upgraded this slot to the Signature Series book here now, which I bought for $140.00. I also have another Universal 9.8 copy of this book which I took from a Toys R Us two pack and submitted myself... there are more details about that book and the two pack in the Justice League America 70 fourth printing slot description.
I included a cool image from the Death of Superman card set which had Shazam (aka the real Captain Marvel) replacing Batman, as well as some other character changes in the background. If I understand this correctly it was due to a licensing issue between DC and Skybox. I believe that Skybox did not have the rights to the Batman family of characters. Whatever the reason, I think it's pretty cool!
