Owner's Description

Crime Reporter #2 is referenced in Fredric Wertham’s “Seduction of the Innocent” (SOTI) as illustration #8 with the caption “Children told me what the man was going to do with the red-hot poker”.Wertham pulled the splash page from the Crime Reporter #2 interior story “Girl's Captors Killed in Dope Ransom Plot” as illustration #8 in the SOTI. The splash page depicts a bound woman about to be assaulted by a man with a hot poker. The story was originally published in Dynamic Comics #17. However records indicate the Wertham saw this story in Crime Reporter #2 hence Dynamic Comics #17 is not considered a SOTI referenced book.
