Owner's Description

Giant Comics Edition #4 is referenced in Fredric Wertham’s “Seduction of the Innocent” (SOTI) as illustration #9 and also in the text on page 181. Illustration #9 depicts a panel from Giant Comics Edition #4 where two thugs are draining the blood from a woman as a means to keep her quiet. The SOTI caption under this illustration is “Outside the forbidden pages of de Sade, you find draining a girl’s blood only in children’s comics”. Wertham also mentions the blood draining panel in the text on page 181 where he describes it as a “morbid fantasy”. In addition to Giant Comics Edition #4, the blood draining story is reprinted in Authentic Police Cases #3 and Red Seal Comics #16.
