Owner's Description
This Signature Series book is the third 9.8 to occupy this slot!
The original book in this slot was From the 'NO ONE CAN KILL SUPERMAN!' collection.
When I got that book, I had one submitted as a crossover, which was a CBCS graded 9.8 that I had bought for $39.95. I already had the first and third printings CGC 9.8. The first printing I had for a while, and the third I was very fortunate to have submitted myself and have it come back as the only graded third printing and a 9.8 at that. I figured that the CBCS 9.8 of this book was probably my best chance at a CGC 9.8, rather than searching for other raw candidates.
Even with the crossover submission pending, I could not pass up on the opportunity to add the 9.8 from the 'NO ONE CAN KILL SUPERMAN!' collection along with the others from that set.
The crossover submission came back a couple months after I got the first book and it received a 9.8 from CGC as well, which I think is pretty cool.
My initial plan had been to keep the book from the 'NO ONE CAN KILL SUPERMAN!' collection in this set but when I was working on reholdering all of the books in this set that were in old holders, it made more sense to swap out the crossover book, which was in the new holder, than to send the other away for reholdering (I can do that later). Both books will remain in my collection!
A little bit later this Signature Series copy popped up on eBay. At first, I thought it was priced a little high, especially considering that I didn’t actually need it. It eventually went on sale and I then made an offer which I thought was reasonable, and the seller accepted. As I have said before, I will continue to work on this set and upgrade some of my 9.8’s to Signature Series books if the right ones become available. The thing that I really like about this book is that the silver signature matches that on the first printing ss I have of this book… really neat!
I’ve included a picture of all three of my 9.8’s in the second image slot.
