Conceived as the Canadian Governments answer to the recent spate of super human activity within the U.S.A, Alpha Flight was the brainchild to James MacDonald Hudson (The Vindicator) Inspired by the Fantastic Four, Hudson and his wife convinced the Canadian Government to found Department H.
