Owner's Description

Issue #90 features yet another social crusading cover, this one about the evils of polluting our oceans. In the story, when a female Atlantean perishes on the surface, Bat-man is unable to contact Aquaman for information. A supply of American war-gas accidentally dumped on the undersea kingdom of Sareme has destroyed the Proof-rock, symbol of the Saremean religion, and its believers have retaliated by using the war-gas to take over Atlantis. The Justice League is summoned, and stops the invasion, but not before more Atlantean lives are lost. Parts of the Proof-rock remain, though, and Hawkman uses them to institute the beginnings of a revived religion among the people of Sareme. Meanwhile, Batman finds Flash, who had failed to respond to the emergency signal, badly injured.

Our 9.8 is one of seven highest graded copies as of 5/2020. We acquired the book in the 10/2/2011 Heritage Auction.
