Owner's Description

Currently Tied for Second Highest Graded Copy of this Issue. The highest is a monster 9.6 Crowley copy. This is one of my favorite covers. Love those vibrant colors.

"Sivana Strikes Again (Part 1)"

Sivana has created joy buzzer that turns a person peaceful with a handshake. His daughter Beautia hopes it's finally an invention for good. Suddenly, a crook named Butcher Bane breaks in demanding pay for a job he did. Sivana slips on his ring and shakes hands with Bane turning him into a 'Disciple of Peace'. Bane picks up a baby to kiss it prompting the mother to scream within earshot of Billy Batson. Cap punches Bane in the face but the perfectly docile Bane confuses Marvel. Sivana takes credit for Bane's reformation and tries to shake hands with Capt. Marvel but Marvel will have none of it prompting Sivana to flee and duck into a sewer.

Later, Sivana holds a party inviting all the top public enemies, shaking hands with each as they enter. When everyone is pacified he offers them a contract turning over all their gangs and loot and the gangsters happily comply. Meanwhile, Beautia runs into Billy at an ice cream shop and mentions her fathers party. Billy says the magic word and literally crashes the party, punching Sivana in the face. Sivana tries to enlist the aid of the gang lords but they all timidly duck under a table. Sivana tosses some soup in Marvel's face and runs off to hide in a garbage can. As always Cap is completely flummoxed.

"Sivana's Viewpoint (Part 2)"

Some boys spot Sivana coming out of the trash can and plan to tell the police but Sivana begins to tell the boys that all the stuff they've heard about him is propaganda from a lying Capt. Marvel. He mentions his money magnet which was an actual story from a previous issues. The boys begin to become persuaded until Cap, who'd been listening the whole time, shows up. When he attempts to capture Sivana the boys intervene and Sivana flees once again. Cap convinces the boys of the error of their ways while Sivana returns to his laboratory. Marvel inexplicably decides to change back to Billy before entering the lab and gets smashed in the head with a wrench. As he awakens Sivana uses his glad hand and Billy becomes a loyal ally, Sivana, Billy and Beautia fly into space in a rocket where Sivana intends to bathe the entire Earth in his friendship ray while Billy broadcasts on WHIZ. They land on Venus where Sivana has his enormous ray gun.

The friendship effect starts to wear off on Billy but he continues his broadcast touting the peace ray. A Venusian walks in and starts talking to Sivana in the language of Venus. Sivana asks Billy to Broadcast a message to Venus and puts Billy in a room that will teach him the language. The machine makes Billy fluent in Venusian but he can no longer understand English. Billy cannot even say his magic word which seems weird since I never thought of Shazam as an English word. Beautia tries to help but Sivana stops her. Billy then wanders off confused with Beautia following while Sivana progresses with his plan and blasts the Earth with his Peace ray.

Peace breaks out across the planet and we learn that the Peace ray must be run continuously to have an effect. Sivana arrives on Earth and kicks a man in the rear causing him to grovel before Sivana. Within a day Sivana has taken over the entire planet. Meanwhile, Billy is still wandering around Venus when a Venusian dragon attacks. Beautia tells Billy his magic word and he's finally able to transform and knock out the dragon. Beautia has Marvel step back in the language machine and restores his ability to speak. Capt. Marvel tunes into a broadcast of Sivana demanding taxes from everyone on Earth prompting Marvel to smash the Peace Machine. As Cap astutely points out it isn't a Peace machine it's a Slave machine. Cap then returns to Earth and ends Sivana's malevolent reign.
