Owner's Description

The first large size (2" x 3") Stamp was given out corresponding to this date/issue. Prior to this there were 2 sets of 12 stamps each, total 24, that were issued one per month to club members. Those stamps were roughly 1.5" x 7/8" in size. In all cases if a kid wanted a stamp he actually had to go to the stores in person to get them. All future September issues up to 1949 are stamp albums even though 1949 doesn't say so on the cover. The Stamp Albums had designated places to stick the next 12 stamps, a full years worth. Each stamp had a coded clue to allow the kid to participate in the 12 chapter Superman-Tim adventure. Each adventure would begin in September and wrap up the following August.
