Brief Description:
The Brood, revealed to possess mutant abilities, attacks the X-Men in full force. They mesmerize Rogue and Psylocke and incapacitate Wolverine, whom Harry Palmer implants with a Brood egg. Storm, meanwhile, takes to the skies but is brought down by the Brood mutant Dive-bomber, whom Havok kills to save his teammate’s life. After Colossus defeats the Brood mutant Brickbat, the rest of the Brood retreats. Elsewhere in Denver, the Reverend William Connover and his wife Hannah discuss Hannah’s arthritis affliction, while in Australia the dreaming Madelyne has a vision of her husband, Cyclops, discarding her in favor of the original version, Jean Grey.

Story Notes:
This issue marks the beginning of Uncanny X-Men’s twice-a-month publishing schedule, which continues somewhat sporadically until 1991.

Beirut is the capitol city of Lebanon. The fighting to which Rudy the cameraman refers must have been during the prolonged Lebanese Civil War.

Lucasfilm Limited is Star Wars-creator George Lucas’s film and special-effects production company. In addition to producing the original Star Wars trilogy and the Indiana Jones films, Lucasfilm also co-produced Howard the Duck, a film based on the Marvel Comics character.

Colossus does not appear on the camera’s display screen because of the invisibility enchantment Roma granted the X-Men in Uncanny X-Men #229.
