Special Note: Savannah Collection Pedigree
One of the largest Silver Age pedigree comic collections ever found. The Savannah Collection is an original owner collection amassed between 1955 to 2004 making it one of the longest running pedigrees recognized by the grading companies and the collection community as a pedigree.
Purchased in stores and directly from the distributor in Savannah, Georgia, the collection consisted of almost 40,000 comics. Complete runs of most every title published since 1959, to include almost every DC comic in that period. Unfortunately, because Marvel Comics were not distributed in Savannah until 1964, the collection is missing most early Marvel keys.
The collection was originally purchased by Shelton Drum of Heroes Aren't Hard to Find in Charlotte, NC in 2010 with the earliest part of the collection being sold through Heritage Auctions in 2011 through 2012. In 2016 Stephen & Sharon Ritter at Worldwide Comics acquired approximately 20,000 of the later issues directly from Heroes, this comic is part of that acquisition.
