Owner's Description

Welcome To Lovecraft Chapter One.<br />Written by Joe Hill. Illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez.<br />This special reprint of the debut issue of the Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft #1 includes not only the actual script from Hill, but also a second bonus: an all-new 11-page story, "Freddie Wertham Goes to Hell," from Grave Tales #6, written by Hill, drawn by the late Seth Fisher and presented in color here for the very first time. This book was released on September 10, 2009. This Ghost Key variant was a special incentive for orders exceeding ten on the #1 Special Edition regular comic books. This book was released on September 10, 2009.<br /><br />I thought it would be fun to add one of Mr. Hill's other comics in the reverse gallery slot. This one is Grave Tales #6, technically this was the true first printing of Joe Hill's story "Freddy Wertham Goes to Hell", a modern EC-like book from Cemetery Dance, featuring short horror stories by Robert Morrish, Ray Garton and Joe Hill. The cover was illustrated by Paul Groendes. Joe Hill's story, "Freddy Wertham Goes To Hell", features artwork by the late Seth Fisher and Langdon Foss. "Freddy Wertham" takes a gasp! choke! look at the lurid horror comics of the 1950's, which were famously snuffed out after child psychologists of the day warned they could poison tender young brains. This book was released on March 18, 2009 with an estimated print run of 5,000 copies.
